Laminate flooring has a plastic surface similar to laminate countertops, but manufactured with ten times more abrasion resistance. This allows for the heavy foot traffic which flooring must endure. Laminate flooring has easy care instructions. It will not dent or fade and is very scratch resistant. It is an excellent flooring choice for young, active families with busy lifestyles.

Laminate is a “Floating Floor” installation. This means it is installed over a pad but it is not glued down. In most cases, it is a glue-free, snap together tongue and groove installation.

This process makes this flooring easier to install. (Professional installation is recommended, unless you are very handy and have the appropriate tools.) It is also easier to complete repairs when necessary since no adhesive is used.

We recommend a high quality rubber padding with a moisture barrier. provides a nice cushion underneath and helps to diminish the hollow sound that some laminate floors have.

While Laminate flooring is only a reproduction of wood, ceramic, or stone, it is not the real thing. Thus, it is less expensive than most hardwood and ceramic flooring options.
