Ceramic Finisher

The Union Ceramic division of a local company is seeking Ceramic Finishers. Candidates will be responsible for installing, aligning and straightening tiles.  Candidate will also cut tile to fit around obstacles, odd spaces and corners using hand and power tools.  Install grout between the tile joints, which could be on the ground or a vertical surface.  Candidate will also be responsible to apply, mix and deliver plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to the job site.  Candidate must have knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trade, tub and track saws, scaffolding and grinders. Must also have knowledge of mathmatical applications.  Candidate must also be able to lift 100 pounds repetitiously, and work at heights off of scaffolding.  Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screen and criminal history background check.

Required Physical Abilities:

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, use stairs and move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding on a regular basis
Sit, Stand, and work on knees for required periods of time
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate all tools associated with installation
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted
