Flooring Journeymen

The Union Flooring division of a local company is seeking Flooring Journeymen.  Candidates will be responsible for installing carpet, carpet tile, VCT, vinyl plank and base and sheet vinyl.  Candidates will also have to be able to level floors with a cement based leveling compound.  Candidates must have knowledge of the tools of the trade and have their own hand tools.  Candidates must also have mathematical applications and be able to lift 100 pounds repetitiously.  Must also be able to pass a 10 panel drug screen and a criminal history background check.

Required Physical Abilities:

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, use stairs and move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding on a regular basis
Sit, Stand, and work on knees for required periods of time
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate all tools associated with installation
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted
