The Union Glass division of a local company is seeking Glazier Mechanics. Candidates will be responsible for the installation of glass, curtain walls, storefronts, doors, door hardware, metal panels and building enclosure systems. Demolition of the same. Load and unload glass, metals, various materials and supplies. Candidates are also responsible for proper surface preparation and sealant joint installation. Use power tools and equipment, including ladders, scaffolding and swing stage. Saturdays required, as needed.
Must be an affiliated, Union card carrying Glazier in good standing with the union. Candidate must be certified to weld vertical and overhead. Must have a basic understanding and interpretation of architectural, structural and shop drawings, including door, hardware and glass schedules. Must also have knowledge of mathematical applications and general science. Candidate must be able to lift 75 pounds repetitiously, and work at heights off of scaffolding on a regular basis. Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screen and criminal history background check.
Tools:
Each Glazier shall be required to have in his possession a lockable tool box, a combination square, bevel square, hacksaw frame, sixteen (16) foot tape measure, assortment of wrenches (¼” to ¾”), putty knives—bent narrow and wide, set of alien wrenches (regular and metric), wood chisels, hacking-cut knife, claw hammer, screw drivers— Phillips and regular, angle dividers, chalk line, plumb line, assorted chisels—wood, steel and stone, pencil, set of punches, finishing shears 4” left and right hand aviation snips, scratch all, crescent wrench and vise grips.
Safety:
Must have minimum 10 hours OSHA card valid within the past 3 years.

Required Physical Abilities:
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, use stairs and move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding on a regular basis
Work the majority of time outdoors
Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate all tools associated with installation
Sufficient near vision acuity to read information on handwritten forms, and printed on paper
Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
